Great accommodations, great staff, and a great value for the money Visited: December 2005 |

We had an enjoyable, relaxing and beautiful two weeks at the Lance Aux Epines Cottages. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The cottage was clean, and well appointed with a sunset view you can't beat. Several restaurants were in walking distance. This was our 26th island in the Caribbean, and the Lance Aux Epines was one of our favorites. |

We had a marvelous and relaxing holiday here. All the staff and security were very friendly, and nothing was too much trouble - they made us feel very welcomed.
The location was great, and the cottage was well equipped and very spacious. There were some good fish to be caught off the beach in the evenings, very close into the edge. And we just bought a box of frozen squid in the local supermarket and found these to be very effective. Several locals fished here regularly and were good company.
Also, there was especially good fishing to be had turning right on leaving Lance Aux Epines, and fishing from the rocks, under the old lighthouse.
Thanks to Tim, the manager, Beryl, Ria and all the staff for making our holiday a special one. Hopefully, we will return someday. |

The cottage was very spacious and was equipped with plenty to cook and serve a meal with. A nice breeze all day made it possible to not have to use the air conditioning, but it was nice to know it was available.
The staff and security were very friendly. The beach was kept very clean. And although it was shared with public, as all beaches were in Grenada, there was plenty of room for all. The resort was near eating and shopping areas. The lack of T.V. was great and encouraged relaxation. |

Sea and diving was unimpaired by Ivan. Visited: January 2005 |

I have just returned from my third trip to Grenada and my third stay at Lance Aux Épines Cottages.
My principal reason has been the scuba diving available – and available only steps from the Cottages with ScubaTech. There is a wide choice of dive-sites offering coral reefs of varying depth and marine life in both the Caribbean and Atlantic and various wrecks to explore.
All dives have been defined by the pristine quality of the sea. There is never a trace of the rubbish, which sadly disfigures other ocean areas of the world. There are no illegal fish traps. There is no pollution. ScubaTech offers instruction, a choice of air mixtures on which to dive, and excellent, friendly dive leadership. We travel to dive sites in a small-but-comfortable boat. Diver safety and enjoyment are priorities.
One of our first thoughts was for the survival of the reefs and the impact Ivan might have had on marine life. We were concerned for the commercial survival of diving. With these concerns foremost, we contacted ScubaTech and, through them, St George’s University’s veterinary and Marine Sciences staff and planned and raised funds for a reef survey to assess damage and monitor recovery.
My return to Grenada was as a part of the survey team. Others on the team had been diving since shortly before Christmas, ’04. I made 10 dives in the brief week I was there. Helen and I will return again in a few weeks and stay to holiday, relax, and dive. It will not do a disservice to the survey report, when it is finally written, to say now that our deepest fears were unfounded.
The reefs are healthy. There is no damage to the corals – even to such soft corals as sea fans and sea whips. There is no broken hard coral. No rubbish from the storm was tossed into the sea. The waters are clear. Fish and other marine forms are thriving. Our survey report, which was to quantify damage, will now serve as a baseline for further monitoring and on-going scientific study. Recreational scuba diving is staging a comeback.

We arrived on November 4th. We were the only guests in the only cottage that had been repaired after the storm. Tim had done a great job getting the cottage ready for us. The other cottages still needed work, but after ten days, most of the cottages and flats were ready and people were arriving.
Everything worked - water, power, telephone, internet connection, and the TV in the game room was working (40 channels). While the rest of the island was short on power and telephone, we had it all.
The local stores closed early, so the people could get home before dark since they did not have power.
This was my third visit to the island and - despite the damage - we would go again and stay at the cottages.
Many thanks to Tim and the staff for helping us enjoy our stay in the tough times. |

This is a very pleasant site on the beach with good swimming and water activities. The games are fun and the room is relaxing. Also, the cottages are very comfortable, and the staff is helpful and friendly.
They have just refurbished after Hurricane Ivan, but already the site is looking colorful and pretty. Don't hesitate to book, you will enjoy the holiday. |

We had a very pleasant and comfortable stay here. We ended up staying ten days instead of seven due to getting too relaxed.
We found having our own kitchen could save us a lot of money and it was fun to shop at the markets. The location was near enough to town, markets, restaurants and beaches for hitchhiking or buses. But we got a car and found it most useful.
The beach was exceptionally nice and quiet. We stayed in Ramier apartment and found it clean and comfortable. We could hear the waves at night - also, a few barking dogs which were less annoying than you might think.
Housekeeping was unobtrusive and efficient. Management (Tim) was friendly and helpful. Mango and coconut trees contributed to our menu. The apartments could be noisy if you had noisy neighbors. But ours were really nice people with a briefly fussy baby. Who cares?
The air was balmy, the sea was turquoise, and the apartments had nice blenders. The cottages were very spacious and comfortable (we spent the first night in one). They'd be great for vacationing with friends. I highly recommend this as a bargain for an off-season vacation. |

We booked 5 days at Lance Aux Epines Cottages at the start of our vacation in Grenada and ended up staying 10!
The cottages were in a fantastic tree-shaded location on a lovely sandy beach in Prickly Bay. The beach wasn't as big as Grand Anse but it was very beautiful and excellent for swimming and hanging out.
The cottages and apartments (we stayed in both) were very roomy and well equipped. The decor was simple and the kitchens were more than adequate for simple meals. If you want something more fancy, then the housemaid can also cook local dishes for a small extra charge.
The cottages also provided fast internet access, kayaks, sailboat, games room etc. etc. - in fact just about everything you need for a relaxing and hassle-free vacation.
We will definitely recommend Lance Aux Epines Cottages to our friends and look forward to returning soon. |

Everything we'd dreamed about! Visited: October 2000 |

It's always difficult choosing a holiday and spending money without really knowing what you’re buying. We'd never been to Grenada before and didn't know anyone who had, so it was a shot in the dark. But, wow, did we do well!
The cottage was spacious, airy and fully screened to keep out the nippy flyers. It needed some updating in the kitchen area but who's bothered when you are provided with a wonderful helper to do the cooking, washing, cleaning and ironing?
Just a few steps away there was a white-sand beach with clear blue water and it was so beautifully warm. We were swimming at 6 in the morning and 6 in the evening and only the darkness got in the way. The sunsets were stunning.
I could go on a lot longer and we're returning this October as well. You can't keep us away. Oh, I can't wait!
